Members of Central Church of Christ have been participating in an outreach ministry at Twin City Mission for several years. Teams of Central members provide desserts and serve lunch each Wednesday. The volunteers serve residents of the shelter along with members of the community. Church members whose work schedule prevents them from coming to the mission on Wednesdays participate by providing desserts, which are not usually offered at the shelter.
The Twin City Mission ministry has provided a link between Central and a different segment of the community with special needs. The connection has helped the diversity at Central and been a great blessing to members of the church who participate.
Usual lunch hours at the mission are 11:30 a.m. until 12:30 p.m., with volunteers welcome to join the Central teams on Wednesdays or help on other days.
As of now, we have two regular Wednesday groups, Team Terrific and Team Terrific Too. Each group has servers and dessert providers. The schedule of which group has which Wednesday can be found on this calendar.
